Inspiration

HackerRank was my first Website for competitive coding this was obviously before I found out about design . I had created an account because our Principal used to nag us everyday about it so I decided to make an account . Naturally after a month of diligent work i gave up on it, but it did help me a lot by helping me improve on my basics. After I got the topic it was the first thing that came to my mind and I decided to revisit the site . I had nothing much had changed , but it was I who had changed . After being introduced to design I could notice the things that were need to be improved regarding the ui and ux of the webpage and decided to make my project on it.

What it does

My project overcomes the bad ui ux practices of the website along with that it adds new features to it to make it more interactive .

How we built it

After deciding the topic I spoke to some of my friends and my sister who were also engineers and I finished my user research easily as I was a user myself .next made layouts on pen and paper Then I made wireframes , then compared it to the other websites and added what was lacking .I also added a new feature which is like a game to increase the interactions on the website. Finally made high fidelity prototypes and gave my family and friends to test it and made final adjustments .

Challenges we ran into

Time was very little for what i wanted to to I realized I could go on and on about the design but missing the deadline makes it pointless .I had set many reminders and deadlines but failed to deliver the kind of quality I wanted

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I could see how easy it was for the user to use and I got compliments on my design

What we learned

Time management is key and essential I realized with my passion for design I could go 10 hrs straight and not realize. I also learned missing deadlines could cost alot .

What's next for HackerRank Redesign

The mobile interface is yet to be completed and Many of the features are incomplete like game page , certification page and the competitions as well, completion all of these pages along with the micro interactions on each page would surely improve my website and I will definitely be adding them in future.
