Inspiration
-with Covid-19 and not being able to socialize like everyone used to, we wanted to provide a simple hub where students of TAMU would be able to hangout.
What it does
-Users can chat in a chatbox in various "locations" around campus, at any time of the day.
How we built it
-We used flask and firebase to create a website-real time database relation. We used HTML and Bootstrap for the templates
Challenges we ran into
-Implementing the chatbox was difficult, but we figured out how to make it real time and efficient.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
-Providing a way, or a framework, outside of academics for students to have a social life.
What we learned
-How to use Firebase, Flask, HTML, Bootstrap, Python, and using the IDE PyCharm.
What's next for Hackathon-2020
-We'd like to expand on this idea and make it more innovative/user friendly for a wider audience outside of TAMU.
