Inspiration

We were inspired by the growing need for smarter, data-driven decision-making in the food industry, especially for local pizza businesses. We wanted to create a tool that could help businesses like Sauce Bros stay competitive by using AI to forecast sales, manage inventory, and optimize promotions based on real world data provided by the user.

What It Does

The Sauce Bros AI System is a platform that helps pizza chains make better business decisions using data and artificial intelligence. It can:

  • Predict future sales using models like ARIMA
  • Run "what if" simulations for changes like ingredient price increases or new promotions
  • Track customer behavior and predict churn
  • Suggest the best time and strategy for promotions
  • Integrate with APIs like Google Maps and togetherAI for deeper insights
  • Visualize insights using interactive dashboards for sales, inventory, competitor analysis, and more
  • Provide an AI chatbot that answers business-related questions and helps with strategic planning

How We Built It

  • Frameworks & Tools: Streamlit, Cursor, Pickaxe, Kaggle, VS Code
  • Data Sources: CSV, PDF, and TXT files for sales, events, and competitor data
  • Integration: Built integrations for geolocation and trend APIs

Challenges We Ran Into

  • Merging the frontend and backend into a seamless user experience
  • Installing required dependencies and managing API keys securely
  • Implementing full features using only free or open-source APIs

Accomplishments That We're Proud Of

  • Built sales projections based on trends found in uploaded .csv files
  • Enabled comparisons between Sauce Bros and local competitors using both user-provided and preloaded financial data
  • Mapped Sauce Bros locations and displayed relevant nearby competitors using geolocation tools

What We Learned

  • How to train AI models using various types of data (CSV, PDF, TXT)
  • How to create prompts and fine-tune responses for integrating that data effectively into our system
  • How to design with a user-first mindset and simplify data interaction with a conversational AI

What's Next for HackAI Sauce

We plan to:

  • Improve our mapping system by adding radius filters, heatmaps, and more advanced comparison features
  • Incorporate deeper financial breakdowns and long-term business projections
