Inspiration
What's your university / college experience like in a tech program? For me, my two years of software engineering has involved many community involvements including hackathons. I've been on two hackathon planning teams and I attending MLH Hackcon last summer. What I learned is that it takes an incredibly skilled and passionate team to host a hackathon. I built a website that helps hackathon planners fast track their hackathon website.
In addition to planning hackathons, I've spent a fair amount of time attending MLH hackathons. Both in-person and online, I know first hand how difficult it can be to find a team with the same level of dedication as you do. This hack benefits both hackathon hosts and hackers alike.
What it does
In short, it allows hackers to register easily, find active team members to collaborate with, and keep hackers up to date with the latest information and schedule.
How we built it
Built using Velo by Wix, this is a template for other hackathon websites. Wix allows for both front and backend functionalities when it comes to hosting events, data bases of users, and so much more.
Challenges I ran into
Wix and Velo was very intimidating to look at initially. There are so many incredible functionalities on this website. As I worked on it over the past 36 hours, I have started to slowly understand more and more about how these tools work!
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud that this website works end-to-end.
