Inspiration
In History Class, we learned that industrialism has inevitably led to wasteful materialistic culture and consumerism. And the impacts have exponentially worsened in the past few decades. We wanted our project to solve an existing problem that we felt personally connected to.
What it does
Gunn Swaps is a website where you can "swap" coins for donated pieces of clothing.
How we built it
CSS, HTML, JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
Every step of this project was a challenge: we were all COMPLETELY NEW to every aspect of the coding languages we used. And because we weren't using a public server to store data, it was hard to retain user information on our website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The frontend and website design looked fantastic, and we're proud of the "account" and "buy now" function.
What we learned
We learned the basics of web development and several coding languages in terms of frontend and backend development. We also learned how to best utilize resources provided for us.
What's next for Gunn Swaps
We want to add a feature where users can directly items and the product would show up on the listings page.
