Inspiration
We wanted to learn about databases and more about web design, so we created a plant-themed website to help users with their productivity
What it does
This website allows the user to journal their thoughts to prompts, edit and add tasks to their to-do list, view a monthly calendar where they can add events and remove events, and see a plant of the day. Though not finished, a database for user sign-ups and logins was created through MongoDB, and user-data types are able to be registered and password-encrypted through the command line.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MongoDB Atlas database services to create the project. We also drew custom art for the website as well.
Challenges we ran into
As it was our first time using a database and we had no prior experience in SQL or MongoDB, we were unable to connect the database to the website itself, but it is still functional in the command line
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of the editable month calendar as well as all the work we put into the website styling and custom art. We are also very proud to have learned a lot more about databases.
What we learned
We learned how to use MongoDB Atlas and refined our HTML, CSS, and Javascript skills
What's next for Grow
If given more time, I believe we could make the account/user database fully functional and host the website through Github.
