Inspiration

The idea for GrocerEase sprang from the common frustration of grocery shopping, which often became a stressful and time-consuming task. We saw the potential for a standard shopping list app to be much more efficient. We envisioned an innovative solution that not only helped users create and manage their lists but also optimized their shopping experience with in-store guidance and product location assistance. Our goal was to create a smart, intuitive app that would revolutionize grocery shopping.

What it does

GrocerEase is a smart grocery shopping list app designed to transform your shopping experience. Users can effortlessly create and manage shopping lists, marking off items as they shop. The app intelligently learns from user behavior, tracking when and where items are checked off, and uses this data to sort products efficiently. It displays product locations and optimizes the user's route through the store, saving time and making shopping more convenient.

How we built it

We began with brainstorming sessions to identify key features for GrocerEase. Our development process included several strategic phases:

1. Planning: We analyzed shopping habits and identified inefficiencies, conceptualizing a platform that determines product locations based on when items are marked off the list, eliminating the need for store maps. Tasks were outlined and divided among team members.
2. Task Allocation: Work was divided into:

   • Server: Setting up a reliable server for data flow and user interactions.

   • Backend Services: Supporting user data, product information, and location services.
4. Design: Crafting a minimalistic, user-friendly interface with an intuitive layout.
5. Testing: Rigorous testing with dummy data to ensure functionality, usability, and performance, resolving issues before launch.

Challenges we ran into
