Study now, Play later

Inspiration

Inspired by the convenience and accessibility of chrome extension, our group decided to challenge ourselves and create our own unique extension. One that helps students stay focus in their school work by blocking distractions and a timer to tracker their study session!

What it does

The extension will automatically blocked different social media sites once activated! The clock would start when user selected the start time on their study session. Once they're done with studying, ending the timer will update how long they've spent studying. Turn off the extension to return their chrome browser to the pre-lockdown state!

How we built it

We used VS code, Javascript, CSS and HTML to build our wonderful product!

Challenges we ran

We had a hard time trying to figure how to work with the different languages since we do not have much experience prior to doing the project itself.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have created our very own chrome extension for the first time with its different functionality as well as completing our first ever hackathon.

What we learned

We definitely picked up on learning things from scratch as well as how to work with your teammate virtually in an effective way!

What's next for Study now, Play later

We hope to implement more functionalities for the product like it was hoped to be! As well as introducing it to anyone, and everyone, who would be interesting in using it.
