Our platform solves the problem of modernizing and strengthening America's weak power grid. We highlight the importance of this by using Texas’s recent history with crippling blackouts. Outdated infrastructure succumbs to extreme weather and leaves millions without electricity for days.

Using our interactive features, users can see how power grids operate, their weaknesses, and areas that require intelligent planning with diverse energy sources, like wind and solar, nuclear, and even traditional power, to build redundancy. We posit that visualizing complex systems and enabling people to test various scenarios accelerates the transition to a more reliable national energy infrastructure.

Texan’s example is particularly powerful because it shows how disconnected grid systems can fail under strain. However, many regions around the country with aging equipment, under climate change stress, and growing energy demands face risks. We seek to illustrate that these complicated issues are reachable by demonstrating the value of meticulous foresight and investment aimed at constructing a dependable grid that accommodates everyone without regard to extreme weather or other hurdles.

To play this simulator, you are acting as the new energy comissioner of Texas and will design your own power grid and maximize coverage while minimizing costs.
