Inspiration 💡

Our inspiration for GreenWim stems from a deep-rooted personal experience with the harmful effects of air pollution. For years, we've witnessed the damaging impact of poor air quality on our health and the environment. These challenges have motivated us to take action and create a solution that addresses this widespread issue.
The market potential for our solution is vast, with the crypto energy market alone expected to reach $203.27 billion by 2032 , growing at an extraordinary 77.3% annually. This represents a substantial opportunity for GreenWim to capture a significant share by targeting a diverse set of stakeholders with our unique approach.
GreenWim is an integral part of the SolarX ecosystem , designed to accelerate the adoption of green energy through our GenSensor technology. This technology empowers users to connect smart sensors to their green energy sources, such as solar panels, and convert energy production into SLR points. These points can be exchanged for SXCH (currently ETH until mainnet launch), allowing users to actively participate in the green energy ecosystem. By providing financial incentives and fostering a transparent marketplace, GreenWim promotes renewable energy generation and contributes to reducing the global carbon footprint.

We built GreenWim using a combination of technologies to ensure everything works smoothly. For the smart contracts, we used Solidity, which helps manage blockchain interactions securely. On the frontend, we used React and Next.js to create an easy-to-use interface. To connect the frontend with the blockchain, we used Ethers.js, which allows our platform to communicate effectively with the blockchain.
We also developed a working prototype of our GenSensor using an Arduino board and the necessary sensors. This prototype helps monitor green energy production and translates it into digital rewards on our platform.

One of the main challenges we ran into was developing the sensor part of the project. Integrating the sensors with our platform to accurately monitor and report green energy production proved to be more complex than expected. We had to overcome several technical hurdles, including ensuring the sensors could reliably gather data and communicate with our smart contracts. This process involved multiple iterations and testing phases to get everything working smoothly.

We have successfully developed our prototype, which was the most complex part of our project. We have also successfully integrated the smart contract and an OpenAPI for real-time weather monitoring. This data is transferred to the smart contract for reward calculation.

We have learned a lot while building this project and have discovered its potential in the energy market. We’ve gained insights into real market statistics and how they align with SolarX.

We are focused on enhancing our platform to support individuals committed to environmental sustainability. Initially, we’ll complete the development and deployment of GenSensor technology in select regions. Next, we will integrate decentralized weather APIs and expand our marketplace. Our final phase will involve launching the full GreenWim ecosystem, including the tokenization and trading of green energy certificates on SolarX's X-chain. Additionally, we aim to offer users eco-friendly alternatives and support startups that promote sustainable practices, aligning with their preference for discount coupons over USDT.
