Inspiration

“As sales are increasing at the projected rate of 5.3% annually, CPG companies will have to lower their carbon intensity by more than 90% between 2015 and 2050 to stay in line with the Paris climate target.” Our inspiration for this project came from an understanding that companies and improper supply chain management can rapidly accelerate climate change.

What it does

GreenLink bridges the disconnect between businesses and making the best decisions for their supply chain. It is a comprehensive and accessible database of supplier sustainability practices that matches products to contacts that bring them to life, so that companies may make informed decisions that align with their values and contribute to sustainable growth.

How we built it

We built a working prototype through wireframing on the webpage on Figma. On top of that, we used HTML to make a simpler prototype of the search bar feature, which is connected to an .xlsx file that we hope to expand while building GreenLink's supplier and manufacturer database.

Challenges we ran into

Most of our team had little to no web development experience, so figuring out how to go about building our project was a big challenge for us. Because of this, we opted for a very simple HTML layout and mainly focused on building functionality on Figma as our proof of concept.

What's next for GreenLink

  1. Expanding our Criteria for Determining GreenLink Ratings
  2. Developing the Data Aggregation Feature
  3. Continuing our Research into Supply Chain Best Practices
