Make sustainable trip planning fun and engaging for a wide variety of users by incorporating communities and leaderboard ranking systems. Our vision was to gamify sustainable travel practices as it keeps users engaged and coming back for more. In the future, we feel that there will be more of an emphasis put on greener practices, so what better way is there than to brag to ur friends about being above them in the Greenify leaderboards😎 Developed in React/JS with auth and databases done using Firebase, map UI implemented using MapBox API.

I contributed by designing and implementing the trip planner and carbon tracking system. I integrated Mapbox APIs for geocoding and routing (walk, bike, drive, transit) and built a clean UI for planning trips with interactive maps and mode selection. I developed the emissions calculation logic to compare modes against a car baseline, ensuring walk/bike show zero emissions but positive savings, and transit shows realistic reductions. I also set up Firebase Authentication and Firestore to persist trips per user, handling real-time syncing, data normalization, and bug fixes around route storage and emissions accuracy. Overall, I built the technical backbone that lets users plan trips, see their impact, and save results to their account.
