💡 Inspiration Eco-friendly businesses are now popping up all over the place, helping to benefit local communities socially, environmentally and economically which is why we designed GOGreen. We hoped to create an app which would make it easier for people to create a space and environment where people can help make the planet a better place and take care of their health. 💻 What it does This is an app design which locates eco-friendly restaurants near your location in order to support environmentally and small local business. It aims to connect you with people in your community and this way, you’re helping businesses to stay profitable and promoting growth within the company which will also generate more job opportunities for people. Not only that, local sustainable businesses tend to have a smaller client base so this means they are likely to go above and beyond to add more value to customer service. In conclusion, GoGreen aims to deliver unique experiences for our customers through healthy food, attentive service all while making the planet a cleaner place. ⚙️ How it works We implemented a website to achieve our goals. The landing page displays healthy dishes that are available for customers to order. The customer could view the image on the right and select the size of the dish on the middle left. Sometimes there are also discounts available on the bottom right. There are also other categories like manufacturing and packaging on the navbar for customers to further explore, and they could also set up an account if they want to use it in the long term. 🔨 How we built it We built the web pages using React and Typescript. Currently we finished the landing page, and we wrote the elements in the page into react components so they would be reusable for other pages in the future. Also, we add css animations to make the interactive slides in the center. 🧠 Challenges we ran into There were some flight challenges we ran into. First of all, the biggest challenge was learning how to use figma. I was surprised to see how complex and difficult it is to manage. We had to watch many tutorials even before getting started. At the beginning it was touch, but we managed to push through and learn so much! 🏅 Accomplishments that we're proud of We are proud of learning to use figma. That was my biggest accomplishment. I have always wanted to learn to use it and I am glad I was finally able to find a reason to learn it. I am also proud of Sharon for implementing the website. It was awesome to see the features run and work. I am proud of Riyya because she kept us in check and always scheduled calls and meeting times and if it were not for her, we would have procrastinated. Lastly, my main accomplishment that I was proud of was meeting new people I work well with! 📖 What we learned: Throughout this project, we all were able to grow professionally and personally. We all were able to learn and use figma for the first time. As someone who has never used figma before, I realized how difficult and tedious but rewarding it is. I am so glad that this project exposed me to figma and I am excited to dive deeper into it. Also, Sharon showed us how to implement the features on figma which was super cool. Besides the technical aspect, we all learned how to work better in a team. While everyone had heavy schedules, we all were able to communicate and listen to each other well. We learned how to listen to other people’s ideas and thoughts and how to consider them thoroughly while implementing the project. Overall, we came out of the project learning so much more! 🚀 What's next In the future, we hope to expand our site globally, allowing users to find sustainable restaurants near their neighborhood, all over the world! We hope to add more features such as delivery options, review sections and a platform to provide jobs for deliverers. Installing and running: Install nodeJS
