The main page
-
This is where you go when you click continuous graph. User can enter parameters based on preference.
-
Once you enter the parameters and submit, you get a visual graph based on your config
-
This is the discrete graph settings where you can upload files and color preferences
-
here the user is uploading the file
-
And based on the configurations they chose, they got a discrete graph customized to their own needs.
Inspiration
We wanted to simplify the graph-making process for people who want to visualize their data.
What it does
It can visualize continuous graphs through formula entry and it can plot discrete graphs through file upload. It can also be color customized along with the file upload.
How we built it
It was made with Tkinter GUI for a more pleasant user experience. It has matplotlib and pandas working together in the background to bring the user data to life :)
Challenges we ran into
there were some issues with the color config, but now it works.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were proud that it can upload files into the program! Also, the fact that we didn't give up.
What we learned
That the programming process, once finished and functioning, can be so rewarding.
What's next for Graph.it
It will soon come with more configuration options like chart types, it will also give users the opportunity to visualize multiple series.
