Inspiration

There we were at Spurhacks, shaking and sobbing uncontrollably. We needed a vibe coding and GPT wrapper based project, yet for all of our combined creativity, inspiration had yet to strike. What would be our idea? The thought repeated itself in our heads, "GPT Wrapper, GPT Wrapper, GPT Wrapper, wait a minute... GPT.. Rapper?!" Our epiphany had come at last.

What it does

Chat Mode - Enjoy an engaging 1-on-1 conversation with our uniquely curated AI rappers. Choose from artists such as "Notorious GPT", "Kendrick LLama", and "Drok". Battle Mode - Watch our AI artists show off their artistic chops in a head-to-head rap battle! Studio Mode - Develop your own lyrics and covers with the help of any of our rappers!

How we built it

We prompted Cursor to build the architecture for our project. It suggested for our tech stack:

Frontend: React 18 + TypeScript
Styling: Tailwind CSS
State Management: Zustand
Routing: React Router DOM
Build Tool: Vite
AI Integration: OpenAI GPT-4 API
Icons: ChatGPT Image Generation

Challenges we ran into

The code that Cursor generated wasn't always correct, so we had to either fix the errors manually or reprompt it to fix its errors for us.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were very satisfied with the final appearance and modern design of our project. We were also happy that our final project didn't have any obvious bugs/problems, which was a pleasant change from previous hackathon projects that felt like they were being held together by glue and duct tape.
