Goldfish Guard

Goldfish Guard is a password managing service with the memory of a goldfish: none of your passwords are stored directly! They are all stored in an encoded form, only decoded by a unique key.

Inspiration

With the theme of security, other password managers, and cryptography methods we wanted to make a website that could encapsulate these ideas of informational reliability.

What it does

Goldfish Guard is a password database encryption system that allows you to store your usernames and passwords for websites of your choice by encrypting your passwords without storing them in our system to ensure your information is secure.

How we built it

Using python integrated with flask and MongoDB as a database, we were able to create our project and host a website using Vercel.

Challenges we ran into

  • Learning Flask/MongoDB
  • Debugging Flask code
  • Attempting to use google cloud (was not successful)
