Inspiration

We created Shreeji Samaj to foster a community where every mukt feels at home embraced by the SMVS family. Our app is a safe space for an open dialogue, allowing you to ask even the most controversial questions without fear of judgment. We celebrate everyone and anyone who wants to engage in a respectful conversation that leads to the strengthening of our bonds with one another as well as deepening our spiritual connections.

What it does

The app is just a wrapper app that provides links to our r/shreejisamaj subreddit and Shreeji Samaj discord server. The subreddit is a controlled environment where users are allowed to post their thoughts, concerns, etc. while being anonymous. The discord server is invite-only that requires verification. The subreddit is linked to the discord server.

The subreddit is intended to be a place for serious conversations while the discord server is intended to be a place for informal conversations with numerous bots set up to generate conversations amongst the group.

The subreddit & discord moderation has no tolerance for explicitly inappropriate posts which include (but not limited to) 18+ content with no relevance to sat-sang, profanity, and etc. Such posts will result in immediate bans. Other posts will be subject to personal reviews whichll check for ill-intent against the sanstha, Maharaj & Mota, or the sampraday.

Challenges we ran into

Challenges we ran into were things like how could we include everyone into a single platform? How could we make sure people don’t feel embarrassed about their concerns? Also, how could we make this practical enough so it’s easy for everyone to use. How do we ensure sufficient moderation is in place to prevent inappropriate conversations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Accomplishments that we’re proud of is how much we worked together, we got to know each other more, we came to understand each others nature better, and we learned a lot from each other. We are grateful for this experience and hope to see more things like this later.
