Inspiration
With an ever-increasing world where people are more exposed to screens or things that damage eyesight, reasonably, there is a growing consensus where teens and young ones require the visual aid of glasses. Many teenagers also prefer glasses that they find suitable and comfortable with, but there are rash conditions that make it difficult to reach an optometrist to choose new frames.
What it does
Our design plans on giving the user a chance to upload a self-portrait and see what frames of glasses fit the best for themselves. With this in mind, going to an optometrist with limited choices of frames will not be possible when this process is entirely digitalized. Glassier removes the painstaking process of searching and finding a glasses frame that fits you while also being highly interactive.
How we built it
Since we did not have a high knowledge of web development or coding experience, we created our final design purely on Figma.
Challenges we ran into
We initially planned on making a live website by learning HTML or CSS, but this was simply not attainable within the given timeframe. After attending a Figma workshop, we decided to change routes and base our final project on Figma entirely.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Naturally we were proud to finish the project and proud to have learned new things about designing and creating. One of our team members was able to create the carousel aspect of the frame selection which was an entirely new concept that had been learned.
What's next for Glassier
Our next steps would hopefully to start coding it and implementing it onto HTML where it would be accessible not only to us, but also to a wide variety of interested people.
