What it does
GingerCake connects people across the world and makes exchanging gifts possible. During this festive season of Christmas, its not a surprise that everyone wishes to receive gifts and also enjoys the joy of gifting others. So our website, makes this exchange even more easier and helps people form unique bonds with various people across the world.
How we built it
We built it using Django being our main framework as backend. For the front-end, Tailwind CSS was used for better responsiveness and user- experience. We then built a chat room enabling different users to interact with each other.
Challenges we ran into
It was our first time implementing chat feature, we had trouble making it realtime.
Accomplishment that we're proud of
Finishing the whole project in under 24 hours !
What's next for Ginger Cake
We will include a ML model that can recommend people the gifts they would want based on their interests and likes.
