Inspiration
Going to a doctor for general advice and interacting with the healthcare system, I have noticed how utterly inaccessible and expensive getting basic medical help is - something that everyone should have access to. This realization sparked my determination to create a platform that would democratize access to healthcare and empower individuals to take charge of their well-being. My goal is to provide a space where all people, regardless of their financial situation or geographic location, can receive essential medical guidance and support.
What it does
The platform is designed to consult users on potential actions according to their symptoms, drawing predictions based on the data. On the contrary to other models, we are aiming to make the assistant ask the guiding questions, helping the patient share the data, necessary for the advice. Moreover, we are working on making other technologies more accessible to the general public through various specialized tests, for example, by implementing neural networks to predict the risk of breast cancer. Lastly, on the profile page, one can access his data, put it in there, and receive personalized advice or design a program, according to his health conditions. We are working on creating vivid data visualization to enhance the user's understanding of his data and be more aware of his health.
How we built it
We built the neural network using pandas, scikit-learn libraries, using the hugging face dataset for breast cancer: https://huggingface.co/datasets/scikit-learn/breast-cancer-wisconsin, using the random forest classifier method. Using Flask, we connected data from the website to the file to interpret the results and connect a chat bot to the website.
Challenges we ran into
We encountered some hurdles while trying to integrate the neural network and chatbot into our website. Also, implementing certain features on the site required creative problem-solving.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Despite being new to neural networks, achieving a 95% accuracy rate within a short timeframe was a big win for us. It shows our dedication and ability to learn quickly.
What we learned
This project taught us a lot about neural networks and web development. We gained valuable skills that will help us in future projects, and we're excited to continue learning and growing.
What's next for GeneralA
Moving forward, I'll be working independently to bring my vision to life. This includes improving the website, adding new features, and making it even more user-friendly. I'm excited to see where this journey takes us!
