Inspiration

We where inspired by the lack consistent solutions in the community associations. The bureaucracy and lack of voter turnout creates contributes a lot to this problem. We asked ourselves how do we get the community involved without leveraging the community association power.

What it does

For community association who are having a hard time with productivity, we offer a platform that engages the people in the process of maintaining a clean and healthy community. The members of the community do this by reporting and resolving issues straight through our application. We incentivize members to resolve these issues by offering karma points. The member with the most karma points at the end of the month wins a large prize.

How we built it

There are two parts to this project, the app and the prototype. The prototype was built with Sketch and Flinto. The app was built using a collection of JavaScript-based technologies called MEAN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, AngularJS, and Node.js). Additionally to power location experiences for their users, we implemented the interactive maps using Google Maps

Challenges we ran into

We had to pivot a couple times until we came up with a viable idea. We also had at the beginning two teammates leave out on us.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our end product. Our end product shows the time and dedication we put into this project. We made sure that our web app was not only functional but also comfortable and sleek.

What we learned

We learned a lot about pivoting and working as a team. We each also learned a lot of new concepts and software skills individually.

What's next for General Homeowner Solution

We hope to help communities around the country to identify problems and find solutions. We will conduct customer development to see what association members pain points are.
