Inspiration
During our breaks, many individuals find themselves going to the same places. Even when visiting foreign locations, individuals are unsure of which attractions are most worth visiting. There is no better recommendations than from locals who know the area
What it does
Our social media app allows users to find niche places to visit based on local reviews and a rating algorithm.
How we built it
Our tech stack includes React Native and Tailwind CSS.
Challenges we ran into
As beginners to React Native, our team ran into issues setting up our environment and connecting our GitHub Repository to our code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Firstly, we came up with a creative idea that implements the theme and applies to the real world. Additionally, we created an immersive User Interface which our team designed using Figma.
What we learned
We were able to learn useful components of React Mobile Development and are much more confident in our development skills.
What's next for Gatekept
We hope to connect Gatekept to a wide range of users across the globe. We also hope to connect Gatekept with applications such as Eventbrite and Booking.com that could be linked to posts to allow users to find events that they can book a visit to through those third-party apps.
