Inspiration
Gametrain is a gaming platform on an offline network running on Veea technology on trains. People love games - people like to have fun! That is a fact you see, when you take look at the gaming industry and especially mobile gaming with a value of $50 billion.
What it does
Gametrain runs on a local network and as a progressive web app. With only one viral and easy game, you attract first customers and possible suppliers to create a network effect that attracts more and more people to the platform. As a progressive web app, users own their data. All profile data is stored one their phone, not on the train’s local network. So you take your data with you on and off the train. This could create an opportunity for train operators to échange profile data for discounts. The MVP is a multiplayer game called click click. If you win, you get points for the win and climb the realtime leaderboard.
How we built it
Our application is built using Vue, Nodejs, and Socket.io. We have it running in a docker container.
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of difficulty running our application on the Veea hardware.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
It is a platform business model which is highly scalable and is build on network effects to attract more users. With every new user, the value for the other users and the suppliers of games increase.
What we learned
We've been more agile than we've ever been in only 48 hours. Technically speaking and regarding our respective jobs, we used uncommon hardware.
What's next for Gametrain
Add more games, more fun! We also would like to solve our technical issues with the Veea hardware.
