How we built it

We used Streamlit to build the web application game.

To incorporate elements of Generative AI to facilitate learning, we used GPT3 to power our chatbot and simplified explanations.

This was done through the use of OpenAI APIs.

To power our stock market trends and news sentiment analysis we adopted the use of open source APIs.

Machine learning models ( Time series ARIMA)for forecasting the stock data for various companies

Challenges we ran into

Limited API calls were available. Learning new technologies on the go. Coming up with scoring metrics for player performance

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Brainstorming the gamified learning solution to the given problem. This isn't something that is too popular or out there in the context of financial learning content. Gen AI provided us with a methodology to finetune and explain complex topics in the most concise and simplified manner. We have a working game up and running with most features having functionality. For the most part, we successfully implemented all the story points that we set out to complete.

What we learned

Good practices for building a game. Researching stock investment simulators. Streamlit.

What's next for Gamestock

Peer investing and idea-sharing sessions.

Intra-level periodic competitions.

AI-generated pop quiz.

Introduction of a leaderboard to have a healthy competition.

More research on ways to enhance the experience.
