Inspiration
The inspiration behind FuNote came from our desire to make student’s lives easier. We observed that for many students, it takes a lot of time and effort to take good notes and organize them and the content inside them. Thus, we wanted to create an app that helps users’ with more efficient note taking and content organization.
What is does
FuNote is a mobile app whose main function is to convert any pictures of text taken or uploaded by users to smart notes and store them. Funote uses users’ camera and photos to get desired photos, Google ML Kit for text extraction, ChatGPT for text organization, and Firebase for database.
How we built it
FuNote was built using a combination of Flutter for front-end and mobile development, Dart, Google ML Kit, ChatGPT AI for back-end development, and Firebase for database.
Challenges
This is our first time doing a full-stack project, and doing it as a team. It’s also our first time using the technologies above, so we had a lot of conflicts and bugs. We also encountered some difficulties with planning and tasks division, so we didn’t have enough time to fully complete our app
Accomplishments we proud of
Despite our hardships, we managed to complete FuNote main objective and its user-friendly interface
What we learned
Through building FuNote, we gained valuable experience in teamwork in a tech project.
We also learned a lot about the process of creating a full-stack application.
What’s next
We would like to completely finish our application with more features, such as text-to-speech for notes, and search bar. After that, we would like to introduce our app to MSU students and then expand our scope to everyone, especially students. We also aim to optimize performance and scalability to accommodate a growing user base
