Inspiration

The funnel cake line was so long and we didn't know how long it would take to get our funnel cakes.

What it does

Estimates the wait time for funnel cake (and all other) lines.

How we built it

React.js frontend connects with FastAPI backend to run ML models to count the number of people in a line and estimate the average service time to return a total queue time.

Challenges we ran into

Wow. Everything. Frontend configuration wouldn't work until it did. Bubble soccer got cancelled (moral down). Orchestrating all the moving parts proved to be easier said than done.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Funnel cake was consumed. We got the system connected together. We got accurate queue estimation for the dinner line.

What's next for FunnelCakeLineTooLong

Live video capture to estimate queue times using a mobile app. Grocery store estimation (based on items per person) for accurate service time estimation.
