Who doesn't love Farmers.
What it does
It provides a means for purchasing frost insurance. A type of insurance which pays out in the event of frost at a particular location.
How we built it
We leverage Ethereum and WolframAlpha via Oraclize to identify if frost occurred, manage purchases and automate the payouts.
Challenges we ran into
Coming together as a team and being there for the Farmers.
Doing the necessary computations while leveraging the limited computing power of Ethereum.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The design of the Ethereum Smart Contract. The uniqueness of the product. Overcoming the challenges together.
What we learned
Nothing is out of reach when you come together as a team.
What's next for FrostContract
Expanding our catalog of weather related contracts. Hail, rainfall, and snow are all viable options.
