Inspiration
I really like board games. Especially this one :)
How it works
Cards are distributed to 3 players at random and each player is given a civilization which has special abillites depending on the one picked. The goal is to the play the best cards and maximize victory points.
Challenges I ran into
Setting up the server was a big challenge due to us using netbeans initially and netbeans being hard to integrate with azure. As soon as we switched over to Eclipse, we were able to easily set up a website with Azure toolkit. Another challenge was the complete lack of sleep me and my teammates had, which we overcame due to our love of this board game and excitement of building this app.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We can simulate an an entire round of 7 Wonders, and this was a big accomplishment for us. We were able to prevent users from breaking certain rules due to constraints placed on the user (cant afford a resource for e.g). Also, we got this running on an Azure server :).
What I learned
I learned how to create a website using Microsoft Azure. Also, I learned how to lead a group of team members and trust my teammate's decisions.
What's next for 7Wonders
Lots of sleep. Afterwards, we would love to create a finalized version which uses every card and uses every expansion available. This project is merely a skeleton, the real project is much larger! Also, we would love to be able to run this from multiple computers.
