A similar Android app developed by Sony. Besides, there are a lot of requests for an iOS client in the Folding@Home community, but the project leader Vijay Pande cited limited resources.
What it does
Start a background process and manage the intensity of calculations according to the device battery and charging status.

With Ionic and Electron and JavaScript.

What's next for Folding@iPhone
The key part is producing a precompiled C++/Assembly core code optimized for iOS/ARM64.
