Inspiration

Starting big assignments can feel overwhelming, especially when our notes simply say, "Complete Assignment," which isn’t very motivating. Breaking work into smaller, manageable steps makes it more achievable—and that’s exactly what inspired FocusFlow.

What it does

How we built it

We started by brainstorming ideas during discussions and transforming those concepts into wireframes. Once the wireframes were ready, we moved on to coding, following a structured approach we had planned.

Challenges we ran into

We faced challenges in using GitHub effectively, such as resolving merge conflicts and maintaining consistent version control as the team worked simultaneously on different features. These obstacles helped us improve our collaboration and communication skills throughout the project. Also first setting up the project, and deciding who's working on what took some time to get done.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're incredibly proud to have built a functional app that can benefit every student. It's something we would genuinely use ourselves to enhance our well-being and make studying smarter. The fact that we created this in such a short amount of time still feels unreal!

What we learned

We believe collaboration and respect are the foundation of any successful project. While technical skills are important, they can only take you so far. It's teamwork, understanding, and effective communication that truly bring a project to life and ensure it gets done.

What's next for FocusFlow

This app has so much potential! We have plenty of ideas for features that could make it even better, like flashcard quiz generator, pdf-to-text parse and more! But we didn't have the time. With further development, this app could truly go places!
