Inspiration

During the opening ceremonies, we saw some people stutter a lot when they were onstage presenting.

What it does

It listens to your speech and lets you know when you're stuttering or talking to fast or too slow.

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS, and JS for the UI and speech recognitioin, and Node.js for the backend to interact with Google's API.

Challenges we ran into

Calculating the amount of time it'd take for people to speak a sentence.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We built this in 24 hours!

What we learned

We learned how to use the browser's speech recognition API, Google's Cloud Natural Language API, and Socket.IO.

What's next for Fluid

We're implementing a feature to notify users when they're using a lot of filler words, and when they're speaking too fast or too slow.
