Inspiration

We wanted to help people make healthy decisions and ease their burden during stressful periods in their life.

What it does

FloTask is a productivity app that uses TerraAPI to measure the user’s focus, energy, and mood from their wearable devices. Using this data, our app helps users optimize their work schedule, tasks, and breaks based on their daily rhythms and performance.

How we built it

A majority of our project time was spent learning and brainstorming. We drafted our initial ideas on paper and used them to build lo-fis with Figma. After overcoming our technical challenges, we spent the remaining hours constructing components to showcase our ideas for this project. We worked together to help each other get through errors we experienced and learned from each others' mistakes :)

Challenges we ran into

We had difficulty defining scope and functionality of the project, taking on more than we could handle. We also had difficulty figuring out how exactly we would determine stress levels and what to do with the data.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to bounce back from hundreds of errors when setting up our dev environment. We overcame the hurdles that came with setting up expo, react-native, and TerraAPI. In a short period of time, we were able to get a clean and robust UI.

What we learned

Our group had no mobile development experience, and we wanted to challenge ourselves by learning something new. In this time, we gained experience designing a mobile interface and we all learned a new framework.

What's next for FloTask

In the future we intend to fully integrate our app with TerraAPI, refine the design of our existing features, and add Google Calendar integration.
