Inspiration

Financial situations differ from person to person, but wouldn't it be nice if people were more aware of where their money was actually going? This website caters to all types of spenders, and its main goal is to remind people of their personal financial goals by helping them track their expenses.

What it does

With the help of an Apple shortcut, the website helps track all the expenses made via Apple Pay, providing the user with AI-powered weekly review and the ability to upload their bank statement for monthly visualization of data.

How we built it

We used a combination of Gumloop, Airtable and Softr to do the bulk of our frontend, backend and UI. We assisted these services with Python and SQL.

Challenges we ran into

Learning Gumloop was definitely the biggest challenge of the project. Although it is extremely powerful, we found learning a new tool in a time crunch to be quite difficult.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We had some major breakthroughs with all the tools we were learning, which felt really exciting!

What we learned

Learned a lot about tools that can honestly quicken workflow if you know how to use them!

What's next for FLISS

We have a lot of ideas for future deliverables for FLISS, such as a financial wrapped (similar to Spotify) that provides a yearly review.
