What it does

Enter ingredients, get instant AI-generated recipes. No accounts, no databases, only simple cooking concepts fueled by Google Gemini AI in seconds.

How we built it

React + TypeScript + Vite frontend integrated with Google Gemini API. Session-based storage makes it simple without compromising while advanced prompt engineering ensures good recipes.

Challenges we faced

Making Gemini generate structured recipe data reliably, correctly processing image-to-ingredient recognition, and performing API calls rapidly without sacrificing quality.

Proud achievements

Zero-friction user experience that functions flawlessly, frictionless analysis of ingredient photos, and creating unlimited recipe combinations from any ingredient combination.

What we learned

Prompt engineering is craft, users hate signups more than we thought, and AI can actually be innovative with food pairing.

What's next for FlavorCraft

Voice commands for hands-free cooking, smart appliance integration, and expanding to include cocktail and dessert making with the same instant approach.
