Inspiration
What it does
This robot was designed to navigate obstacle courses 1,2 and 3 seamlessly!
How we built it
We intuitively built the robot before realizing there was an instruction manual available online. This ate a lot into our challenge time, but was an impressive feat of our mechanical experts on the team.
Challenges we ran into
We had to improvise due to the lack of tools and mounting equipment. We tightened most screws finger tight and troubleshooted 3d parts misfitting due to large print tolerances
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the progress we were able to make despite the significant and irritating and infuriating challenges we ran into.
What we learned
We learned how to program and wire the Arduino uno r4 with ultrasonic and photo resistor color sensors. We also learned how to control motors using the Arduino with an external battery supply.
What's next for FlagFumigators
We would like to improve this robot by potentially reprinting some of its parts for easier assembly. We would also change the structure of the claw and add a gearbox and encoder for more efficient and precise movements that allow it to capture flags faster.
