FixMyStreet- One-tap Engagement for Smarter, Stronger Communities
FixMyStreet reimagines how residents connect with local government by transforming phones into powerful civic tools. Its issue reporting feature - a GPS-enabled, AI-assisted system- empowers anyone to quickly report non-emergency problems in their community with just a photo and a few taps. From potholes to broken streetlights, illegal dumping to stray animals, FixMyStreet automatically classifies the issue, routes it to the right department, and provides real-time updates to the user — all while creating a transparent, public record of resolution activity.
This intuitive interface dramatically lowers the barrier to civic participation, especially for younger residents, non-native English speakers, and those unfamiliar with bureaucratic channels. By gamifying and simplifying engagement, CivicLink helps build trust, boost accountability, and foster a new culture of shared responsibility. Residents aren’t just observers — they become collaborators in the ongoing maintenance and improvement of their neighborhoods alongside their local government departments.
FixMyStreet design balances ease of use with real-world impact, offering smart categorization (e.g., Public Works, Sanitation, Animal Control), community validation features, and public tracking dashboards to ensure visibility and transparency. It empowers both individuals and entire communities with data-driven insights, enabling advocacy based on actual reporting patterns and response metrics.
