Inspiration

Originally we were thinking of how to motivate people (mainly for children) to do exercise. Initial concept was gamifying and make exercise more fun by adding streaks and rewards like how Duolingo do in learning. However, we want a feature that distinguish to other exercise app. Then, we came up with ideas that as user do more exercise, cute monsters is going to growing up more as rewards. We thought this could be a nice idea since our main target is child and they loves cute monsters like Pokemon.

What it does

The app encourages users to raise their own monsters through exercise! As initial stage, three monsters are provided to user. Those monsters are displayed in home screen of the app with background image of gym or room. Each monster has a property (for example, Sprintail is for agility, Monmon is for strength) and user can raise them by do exercise that is matching to monsters' property. As person acheived enough standard of exercise for provided monsters, he or she can unlock other monsters. The way of measuring execise we expected is by using camera to track posture of person and count the number of how many times does the person repeat movement. At the same time, monster will follow your movement in aside of screen. If user could do exercise in consecutive days, streaks would be showed up and celebrates user. User also can check other people's exercise status to motivate themselves.

How we built it

We use Figma to design UI of the app. For monster image, we use ChatGPT to generate and edited in Photoshop.

Challenges we ran into

Unifying UI design for every screens and designing cute monsters

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We could design clean and sophisticated UI design of our app based on problem solving idea and also variety of our own cute monsters with running animation.

What we learned

Before the hackathon, everyone wasn't familiar with how Figma works. However, we learned how to use Figma to create powerful and stunning product designs.

What's next for FitMe

Implement functions as a fully working app.
