Inspiration

Finance Manager is an app that almost everyone needs in their lives to monitor their expenses, splits, and manage each and everything related to their expenditure. The inspiration comes from the lives of students to working-class individuals when money is not controlled and users have no clue how much amount has been spent where.

What it does

The app comes with mainly 3 sections, Bill Splitter, Cards and Wallets, and Live Currency changer. In bill splitter, users can split their bills among friends, along with tips, and get the currency conversion if needed at that same time itself. This feature would benefit people living together under one roof to split rents, restaurant dining with friends, and so on. Users can also add their card, and monitor their transactions to check how much money has been spent where and with the currency converter international currencies can be monitored for payment or for internationals as well.

How I built it

The app was made on Flutter, which means it can run for both iOS and Android platforms. Firebase was used for the back end and Google Sign in was used for users to sign into with Google to provide better and seamless performance. For currency coversion, live API from http://openrates.io/ has been integrated.

Challenges I ran into

Configuring API and time management.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Completing the basic app prototype and learning proper API integration with Flutter was a little bit of a hassle but however managed to do it.

What's next for Finance Manager

Biometrics for users to view card details using FaceID, TouchID or normal biometrics for Android devices. Use of Machine Learning to predict cost management and efficient savings
