Buying a car should feel exciting—not exhausting. But most customers today face an overload of models, specs, and financing jargon. Toyota’s legacy of exceptional customer care inspired us to reimagine how people shop for cars: what if finding your perfect Toyota were as simple as texting a friend who really gets you? That spark became FindMyYota—a conversational AI experience that helps customers discover, compare, and even buy their dream car using natural chat messages.

What it does

FindMyYota is your personalized Toyota shopping assistant. Customers simply describe what they want in plain language— “I need a reliable hybrid SUV under $35k for a long commute.” From that, the system instantly: Understands the user’s lifestyle, budget, and preferences. Generates tailored Toyota recommendations ranked by fit. Lets the user choose how they want to buy: 💵 Cash Purchase — with transparent final pricing, taxes, and fees. 💳 Finance Option — showing minimum down payment, estimated APR, and monthly cost. The experience feels like chatting with a personal Toyota expert, backed by real-time data, inventory, and financial models.

Challenges we ran into

Context persistence: Ensuring the AI remembered user preferences between chat steps. Finance calculations: Translating raw financial formulas into simple, user-friendly summaries. Tone tuning: Balancing conversational friendliness with the trustworthiness expected from Toyota’s brand. Data extraction: Gathering data sources for car ratings, specifications, and inventory.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Built a fully functional end-to-end recommendation flow that feels natural and human. Created realistic financing visualizations with live calculation logic. Designed a chat-first UX that lowers barriers for first-time car buyers. Received incredible user feedback—everyone said, “It feels like Toyota is texting me back!”

What we learned

Simplicity wins: customers value clarity more than technical flash. UX empathy matters: a calm, supportive tone builds trust faster than flashy features. The future of car buying isn’t browsing—it’s conversation.
