Like a murderer, that one tab you want is hiding from you amidst the citizens of the other tabs in the city of chrome. Become a detective and use this tool to find out that tab!
Inspiration
I usually have at least 20 tabs open in Chrome at any given time. So, it becomes quite a difficult task to find the right tab I want to go to. And hence, I decided to give birth to FindIt!
What it does
Simply searches for the tab you are looking for and takes you there.
No extra complexity, just open, start typing your tab's name and as soon as you find it, click on it.
Oh, and yeah, almost forgot... It has both Dark mode and Light mode, switches according to your system preference.
How we built it
The extension was purely built with JavaScript, along with a bit of HTML and CSS for the styling.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Getting it done, and having loads of fun while doing it.
What we learned
For me, it was an excellent opportunity to learn something completely new.
What's next for FindIT!
- Improving the code
- Searching through the bookmarks
- Some other stuff as they come to mind
- And most importantly, introduce more bugs to solve later
