Inspiration

The FindEqu project was essentially born as a response to the problem that women in society are not sufficiently aware of gender equality and are not aware of their own rights. Our inspiration came from wanting to address this important issue and contribute to social change.

Women, who make up half of society, play an important role in achieving gender equality goals. However, many women are not sufficiently aware of these rights or their opportunities for gender equality. Therefore, when creating FindEqu, our aim was to address the lack of awareness about gender equality and encourage women to stand up for their rights and actively contribute to social change.

The main inspiration for our project was to provide a tool to tackle this problem and help build a more conscious, equitable and just society. FindEqu was created and inspired to raise awareness of gender equality, support local organizations and encourage the participation of individuals. We hope that this project will be a resource and inspiration for anyone who wants to contribute to the fight for gender equality.

What it does

The function of FindEqu: Empowerment for Gender Equality

FindEqu is a mobile application that aims to provide individuals with the information and resources they need to actively support gender equality. Here's what FindEqu does:

Gender Equality Training:

FindEqu provides users with basic information on gender equality and its importance. Users can access educational materials that explain why gender equality is important and how it aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Finding Local Organizations:

Users can easily find local organizations working for gender equality in their country. By typing their country into the search engine, they can access detailed information, projects and contact information about these organizations. This helps users find and support organizations that match their interests and values.

Individual Consultation and Advice:

FindEqu provides a platform where users can share their personal situations and concerns regarding gender equality. Users can send a short message and the FindEqu team offers guidance and advice tailored to their needs.

User Feedback and Continuous Improvement:

Users can provide feedback about their app experience. This contributes to continuous improvements to ensure that the application is user-friendly and effective.

Challenges we ran into

There were some significant challenges we encountered while building FindEqu, and we developed several solutions to address these challenges. Here are these challenges:

Data and Resource Access: Obtaining up-to-date and reliable data on gender equality and accessing information from local organizations can sometimes be challenging. Therefore, we paid special attention to data collection and verification processes and ensured diversity of sources.

Cultural Differences: The perception and needs of gender equality may be different in each country and community. Although we designed our application as a global solution, we have made an effort to understand regional differences and adapt our application to these differences.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Collaboration with Local Organizations :We made it easier for our users to find and support local organizations. In this way, many local gender equality initiatives have the opportunity to attract more attention and resources.

Education and Awareness :We have developed various materials to provide education to our users about gender equality. These materials have helped us create a more conscious society by increasing users' awareness of gender equality.

What we learned

The FindEqu project led us to learn many important lessons in the journey of creating a tool for gender equality. Here are some valuable learnings we gained along the way:

Global Needs Vary:Gender equality must be addressed in a different context in each country. While working on this project, we learned that each community and country has its own unique needs and priorities. Therefore, it is important to customize our app to better suit everyone's needs.

Social Change is a Challenging and Continuous Process:The fight for gender equality is a long-term commitment that does not bring immediate results. In this journey, we realized that patience, determination and constant effort are required. A single practice or initiative is not enough to create profound change; However, many different approaches need to come together.

Education and Awareness are Essential: Raising awareness of gender equality is the beginning of any process of change. Therefore, we have learned that it is critical to create and continually work on education and awareness materials.

User Feedback is Valuable:Our users' feedback is one of the most valuable resources to improve our app. Listening to users' experiences and improving our application based on this feedback increases the success of our project.

Collaboration and Partnership Are Vital: The fight for gender equality requires many stakeholders to come together. In this process, we emphasized the importance of collaborating with local organizations, non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders. By working together, we have the potential to make a greater impact.

At FindEqu, we remain committed to gender equality and the future goals and vision of our project are big. Here's what's planned for FindEqu:

Application Development: By further testing our prototype and evaluating user feedback, we aim to develop FindEqu into a fully functional application. We will work to add more features and improve user experience.

Global Expansion :We will strive to expand the user base of our application and reach more users around the world. This will increase our potential to raise awareness of gender equality and contribute to social change.

Education and Awareness Campaigns: We plan to organize education and awareness campaigns to raise awareness about gender equality. We aim to make our users and communities more aware of gender equality.

Collaboration and Partnerships :We will continue to collaborate with other gender equality initiatives, non-governmental organizations and local organizations. Together we will join forces to create a greater impact.
