Inspiration
We were inspired through the age of the pandemic where there is a noticeable decline is social interactions, and with the limit between meeting others, especially between family members. Then enters, Find Your Roots!
What it does
The website can create and add to a family tree and other features, such as family events, viewing shared interests between family members, and much more...
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP scripts, Node.JS, and MySQL to create this website alongside the library within balkan.app/OrgChart.js.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we ran into were actually building the family tree alongside getting the login and registration pages to work hand in hand with a local database.
What's next for Find-Your-Roots
- Possibly add new features in which other users can interact with members of the same family
- Live Reload so that when changes are made, it shows up on another person's device!
