Inspiration
We realized that many students procrastinate studying until they need to--that is, finals week!
What it does
Our Finals Survival Kit gives study material based on an uploaded informational guide. It has a built-in pomodoro timer, which gives 25 minutes of study time and 5 minutes of break. It also allows users to verbally communicate what they learned about the material, and gives feedback on any mistakes while encouraging the user about what they've mastered, and it outputs a set of flashcards based on what the user should learn.
How we built it
The IDE we used was Cursor, and we used Python, TypeScript, CSS, and JavaScript. We also used Flask to connect the frontend with the backend.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into repetitive errors, as well as our API key not working.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating a complete project with multiple features that benefit students, especially because most of us enjoy procrastinating.
What we learned
We had a steep learning curve because we didn't have too much experience with making websites with AI.
What's next for Finals Survival Kit
We plan on making it more fun for users to want to continue using the website. For instance, we could implement profiles and leveling-up for users to interact with the website and get information correctly.
