Fin Earth

Inspiration

We have always been passionate about sustainable development and didn't want to miss opportunity that Finastra gave to innovate for a global cause.

What it does

COVID-19 may result in a 6% drop in greenhouse gas emissions for 2020. But to limit global warming to 1.5°C, as called for in the Paris Agreement, greenhouse gas emissions must begin falling by 7.6 % each year starting in 2020. We have to Act Now, before its too late. Be responsible, minimize impact and reduce emissions.

Fin Earth serves to power the carbon footprint calculation for Financial Institutions across the world and a helps their customer keep track of their emissions and provide solutions to minimize their impact thereby helping the Financial Institutions to achieve carbon neutrality.

How I built it

The Prototype and the video presented here is purely built on Microsoft PowerPoint and a video editor app.

Challenges I ran into

Finding a developer to build my prototype.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We were able to build an idea into a UI prototype and hopefully successful in conveying my idea to the audience.

What I learned

A lot, regarding carbon emissions, UN sustainable development goals, and what FinTechs and other workplaces are doing to keep their impact minimal.

What's next for Fin Earth

Next step would be to build the MVP for this product based on the idea.
