Inspiration
As first-year students of FIB (Facultat d'Informàtica de Barcelona), we have not been able to meet as many people as we would have liked to, mainly due to Covid-19. That's the reason why we looked for a way to solve this problem.
What it does
The main purpose of our app is to let FIB students interact with each other more easily. In addition, it makes more reachable some of the already existent UPC services.
How we built it
We programmed with Kotlin and XML in Android Studio.
Challenges we ran into
Not only had we never programmed with Kotlin before, but also our experience on Android Studio was nearly inexistent. Therefore, we had to learn everything while we were developing our project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The entire project is by far better than anything we thought we would be able to do. We are especially proud of the final design of our app.
What we learned
We gained some basic mobile developing and programming skills. Furthermore, we improved our teamwork aptitudes.
What's next for FIBerSpace
We would like our app to be considered for further development by FIB and be ready to the public in the near future.
