Inspiration

We, Manasi and Devi, are deeply social people and the diminishing value of real human connection resonated with both of us. Studies suggest that the loneliness epidemic will keep increasing, and we wanted to create something that prevents that from happening.

What it does

The H-Factor aims to motivate users to stay social and deeply connected in a dystopian world in 2025. Talking to robots and chatbots is easier and efficient, but real human connection makes us feel alive. Through this app, users track their quantified H-factor and work on consistently heightening it.

How we built it

We brainstormed our concept using Gemini, then used the inspiration to create initial interactive prototypes in Figma Make. Then, exporting these prototypes to Figma Design, we refined the interactions and aesthetics, eventually using them as data to create a "final" prototype on Figma Make.

Challenges we ran into

Precision-editing on Figma Make or Gemini/ChatGPT was challenging, however our prototypes on Figma Design helped guide the generative process.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We used more AI tools than ever before in such a short span of time, and we were truly amazed at what we could achieve in collaboration with tools. We quickly also figured out our and GenAi's strengths, and can now instinctively use these tools in our workflows than we did before.

What we learned

Creating for a still-being-researched topic was interesting, and something we hadn't done before. We learnt how to scope and prioritize, and tune out the distractions. We also learnt how to use many GenAI tools together coherently to produce good outputs.

What's next for The H-Factor

We wait for the day science allows us to actually measure human connection, and then launch this product to save what we love most about ourselves and our species. :)
