Inspiration and Learning The inspiration for Fem In STEM arose from the alarming statistics revealed in a recent poll and survey. The findings indicated that 40% of women experienced negative effects in STEM due to their gender, emphasizing the urgent need to address gender-based challenges. The shared experiences in the survey highlighted the importance of creating a space where women in STEM could support each other, share resources, and feel empowered.

Technical Implementation: Time constraints were a large issue, so a lot of our project is conceptual and potential features vs actual implementation. We wanted to focus on having a well-thought out idea that can be further developed in our free time!
Community Engagement: Encouraging active participation in our polls was a challenge at first, but through persistence, we were able to obtain invaluable insight into the experiences of some wonderful women in STEM!
