Inspiration
We took inspiration from different ideas we were throwing around, plus experiences from our friends about building their PCs, and the same issue always came up. It was a pain to keep looking at so many different websites for good pricing.
What it does
PC Central allows you to be connected with so many of your favorite stores, without having to do the tedious task for looking for parts yourself. We also have other features, such as a PC for display, as a rough image, as well as a CAD design of PC parts, to show what these parts look like and to distinguish them, as a PC has many components to it.
How we built it
The website itself was built primarily off of HTML, but we also used CSS for the styling and the overall look/aesthetic of the website, and JavaScript for the more complicated parts of it, such as the buttons and drop down menus used in the site. We also used CAD for 3D modeling for the parts of the PC to show off the different parts and distinguish them.
Challenges we ran into
There were many challenges associated with this project, but there was one main issue; Cooperation and Teamwork. It was difficult getting onto the same page, along with the fact that we were somewhat new to HTML, and that complicated the process of the website. However, after we got used to it, we were able to complete the project and had an overall success with the site.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Along with a variety of challenges, we also had a variety of accomplishments. Some of these accomplishments included the creation of the buttons and drop down menu, the CAD design and its implementation into the site, and the overall aesthetic of the website itself.
What we learned
We, of course, learned about HTML, CSS, and JS, as well as the implementation of CAD into sites and projects, as well as the overall prices and challenges of building a PC. However, we also learned about teamwork and cooperation, such as the coordination of ideas and changes in the project itself, along with the idea of splitting up tasks and time management when it comes to working as a team.
What's next for PC Central
PC Central won't be going out just yet. We hope to continue updating and making the website better than it is currently, and we have many ideas about how that can happen. Some of these ideas are things such as more sites and links, a higher implementation of CAD, and overall a quality increase of the entire site itself.
