Inspiration
Our primary motivation behind this project was to bridge the gap that exists between individuals and effective financial management. We observed many individuals struggle with controlling their income, savings, and spending habits. We aimed to provide a tool which is not just easily accessible but also comprehensible to a majority of individuals irrespective of their background in finance. We were enthused by the potential of how technology and effective data management can simplify complex financial information into easy-to-understand visual insights. The thought of creating an effective tool that could potentially enable people to achieve financial stability and know-how served as the driving force behind this venture.
What it does
Our app serves as comprehensive UI to help users with financial literacy. The app visualizes debts to help the user better manage them, helps with stocks and provides feedback on financial goals, and provides a UI that is easy to use and understand.
How we built it
We utilized React for the frontend development and incorporated Express along with PocketBase for backend execution.
Challenges we ran into
Multiple API endpoint would not resolve to the proper format when we were plugging them into the frontend.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The Github is very organized and full of helpful information on how to use the APIs in the wiki section of the Github repository. We also utilized Github Webhooks to integrate with our team discord so everyone was on the same page with the status of branches, merges, merge requests, and commits to branches.
What we learned
How to better leverage Github to have better communication throughout our team.
What's next for Fast Finance
We may continue the development of this app after the Hackathon.
