Inspiration
Our Team was inspired by LyondellBasell's speech, speaking about leading the future as a pioneer in sustainability, and becoming net-zero by 2050. To help the world, it's a global effort that will require a part being played by everyone who is able.
What it does
The website provides gardening tips and plant suggestions based on the region you currently reside in.
How we built it
We first started designing the pages on Adobe Photoshop, thinking of what can we add to the website that would look pleasant, but also represent our goal for this hackathon.
Challenges we ran into
During the creation process, there were many trials & errors, making sure elements were formatted right involving the UI, and the information that was provided by our API was accurate to the region provided by the user.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We aren't the most experienced with web development, and some of us were having our first introduction to the topic during this event, so there were many barriers to break, but we feel that this looks nice and something that could be useful for people interested.
What we learned
We learned about API usage, HTML/CSS implementation, JavaScript (Prototype-Based Programming), and how to deploy a website.
What's next for Evergreene
Perhaps we can make this site more accessible by adding language options and difficulties for plant growing suggestions.
